Your little one is turning big and has started to munch on solid food. It is an exciting milestone. Usually, the babies are given mashed or pureed food. However, it is essential to note to introduce new key ingredient food one at a time.

If you are wondering what and which type of food to give, here is an example of a food list categorized by age limit. However, the baby should be solely breastfed until they turn the age of six months.

The appropriate solid food for your infant:

Babies aged six months

  • Finely cooked beans and pureed meat
  • Infant cereal served with breast milk
  • Cooked veggie puree
  • Fruits mashed such as a banana

Babies aged nine months

  • Finely cooked or minced meat and beans
  • Tiny pieces of veggie cuts cooked-well
  • Sliced pieces of soft foods

Babies aged twelve months

  • Finely cooked or minced meat and fish
  • Fruits that are easy to chew
  • Cooked veggies 
  • Family meals in smaller portion

Foods not to be given until the age of four

  • Popcorn

  • Hard and raw fruits and vegetables

Here’s a list of feeding supplies you must have when your baby is starting on solid food

  • A separate blender for baby foods, especially to make pure in large portions
  • Storage containers with air-tight lids to split and store the pureed food. It should be a freezer and microwaveable material. 
  • A Silicone placemat which is easy to wash and re-use. the silicone material doesn’t stain with the spill. Moreover, it is food-safe and BPA free, hence perfectly suitable for your baby. Also, it keeps the bowl intact, in case your baby wants to play football.
  • Silicone material spoons and forks that is soft and smooth on the gums of the baby. It should also have a flexible neck and a soft tip.
  • BPA free, dishwasher safe bowls for your little one.
  • Safe and easy to clean bibs are a must. Also, it should be long enough to wrap around the neck over both shoulders and also cover the front of the baby.

The reason silicone made products are used because it is durable and long-lasting. Furthermore, there is no other food-safe and BPA free material available for the infants.
